Introducing Google Themes

So logging into my Google personalized homepage, I noticed a new link on the upper right hand side next to my “Add Stuff” button labeled “Select Theme”. Upon clicking it, I found my heart expand to the breaking point with a little more love for Google. Google is now providing skins for your homepage so you have something interesting to look at when perusing the hundreds of widgets you have loaded on your homepage (you know who you are).

And these aren’t just ordinary themes. If you enter in your zip code or location, they will dynamically change according to the time of day. All I can say is… Awesome!

Google Home Page

I love this theme. It’s called Tea House and the little fox goes back and forth from having some tea to taking a dip in the pond. To get your very own personalized home page with a dynamic theme, all you have to do is sign up for a Google Account. More information can be found at the Official Google Blog.

2007 Blogger’s Tournament

Derrich over and derrich.com has bloggers going mono y mono in the epic battle of the century. Okay maybe it’s not that dramatic but he does have 32 blogs battling for number one in the 2007 Blogger’s Tournament.

He’s put together four topic categories: The Gamut (everything and anything), Technology and Gadgets, Blogging and SEO and Money and Finance with eight blogs in each category. Some of those blogs such as Lifehacker and The Thinking Blog I recognize and others I look forward to visiting.

While getting your blog included is based on your Alexa rankings (plus entry is closed anyway) you can still participate by visiting Derrich’s site and voting for your favorite. At the very least you may find some new favorite daily reads.

Good luck to all the entrants.

Engtech Looking For Guest Bloggers

I came across this on Lorelle’s blog. Engtech is looking for guest bloggers. Due to work commitments (that seems to be going around) he’s going to be offline for a little bit and is looking for posts to share with his readers while he’s away.

In exchange, you get a byline, links to your blog and links to any posts relevant to the post you submitted. To participate, shoot an email with your post idea by March 24, 2007 (for the address go here). Final articles are due by April 1, 2007.

Good luck.
